Theory & Approach

How Align Counseling Was Born

Align Counseling was created from a belief that therapy should offer more than short-term coping strategies. At its best, therapy provides a space to understand ourselves more deeply and create meaningful, lasting change.

Throughout my work as a therapist, I saw how many people were navigating anxiety, self-doubt, relationship stress, and life transitions while trying to meet the expectations of a demanding world. Many were capable and high-functioning on the outside, yet internally felt disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward.

Align Counseling was built to offer a different kind of therapeutic space. One where clients can slow down, reflect, and begin to understand the patterns, experiences, and relationships that shape how they see themselves and their lives.

The name Align reflects the heart of this work: helping people reconnect with their values, develop greater clarity, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, intentional, and sustainable.

My Philosophy

I believe mental health is healthcare. Because of this, I work within medical systems and accept insurance so that clients can use the benefits they already have to access high-quality therapy.

Therapy has also been an important part of my own life, and I deeply respect the courage it takes to seek support and engage in personal growth.

What High-Quality Therapy Means to Me

High-quality mental health care is:

• Evidence-based, grounded in strong clinical training and research

• Trauma-informed, recognizing how past experiences shape present patterns

• Relational, built on trust, collaboration, and respect

• Individualized, tailored to each client rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach

My goal is to provide therapy that is both clinically thoughtful and deeply human, helping clients develop greater insight, emotional flexibility, and meaningful growth.
